I. Do you Accept insurance?

The Speech Waves Co. accepts private pay clients. Although we do not directly bill insurance, we are happy to provide documentation and support to clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance company. Reach out to learn more about our service rates.

II. HOW DO I PAY FOR SERVICES?

Services are billed the day of the session. Credit card, debit card, FSE, and HAS payments are currently being accepted. We ask that clients leave a credit card on file. The card on file will be charged for sessions/fees per our fee and attendance policy.

IV. What is your attendance and cancellation policy?

In order to better serve you and make quicker progress toward goals and needs, regular attendance to therapy and/or tutoring is imperative. In the event of a cancellation, we require 24 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee.

V. Is Speech Therapy via Telepractice effective?

We have personally experienced clinical success using telepractice. Speech Waves' clinical experiences with this treatment modality are only one of the scientific research pyramids. Read below to learn more from an SLP who reviewed some of this research.
 
“Wales, Skinner, and Hayman conducted a literature review on the efficacy of speech therapy via telepractice for children in elementary school. The purpose of the literature review was to compare speech therapy via telepractice to in person speech therapy for elementary school students with speech and language difficulties. Wales, Skinner and Hayman (2017) concluded, “The evidence presented showed that telehealth is a promising service delivery method for delivering speech and language intervention services to this population. This alternative service delivery model has the potential to improve access to SLP services for children living in geographically remote areas, reducing travel time and alleviating the detrimental effects of communication difficulties on education, social participation and employment.”

VI. How long will my child need speech therapy AND/or academic support?

There is no standard length of time that a child should be in therapy and/or receive academic support. Each child is a unique individual with unique strengths and needs. Consequently, children are at different levels and progress at different rates. We will involve you in the therapy process every step along the way and encourage your questions.

III. Do YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS?

Yes! We offer scholarships to help make services more accessible. Eligibility is based on a brief financial needs assessment, and clients may qualify if they demonstrate financial hardship, lack insurance coverage or other funding.
