We can help improve any difficulties with perception, motor production, or phonological representation of speech sounds. During speech therapy sessions, we focus on improving overall speech intelligibility, reducing frustration in communication, and teaching specific sounds and words. Our ultimate goal is to help your child be clearly understood easing communication with others.
We support growth across all five areas of language: phonology (sounds), morphology (words), syntax (sentences), semantics (meanings), and pragmatics (social use). For younger children, therapy is play-based; for older children, sessions may include more structured tasks. We work to strengthen communication of ideas, wants, and needs using AAC, sign language, gestures, and/or verbal speech.
We can help improve self-control of speech, in addition to its psychological, emotional, social, and functional impacts. During stuttering therapy, we focus on building confidence, decreasing tension, and making speech feel easier.
We can help improve listening, language, and communication skills that have yet to be acquired or maintain, reestablish, or improve current skills. Our approach includes enhancing comprehension, auditory processing, and visual-verbal expression. Therapy may involve auditory training exercises, strategies to improve listening in noisy environments, and the use of assistive technology to support functional communication.
We can help strengthen attention, problem-solving, executive functioning, orientation, and reasoning skills. We focus on building age-appropriate daily skills such as, completing routines, organizing materials, managing responsibilities, or planning tasks. Our goal is to support safe, confident, and independent participation in everyday life, no matter the age.
